SUPERBIKE MAGAZINE March 2005

Superbike Magazine logoPeak Motorcycle Security were mentioned in the March editon of Superbike Magazine.  Below is a quote of what was mentioned in the magazine.

" When the light came back the next day I went to stat the Fireblade but couldn't disarm the Datatool alarm.  It seemed as though the wintry deluge from the day before had soaked it a drop too far and it wasn't keen to play on.  Though a quick call to local bike security specialists, Peak Security (01162 718384) had owner Jules round in a jiff to take a look.  He agreed that the alarm hadn't taken too kindly to being exposed to the winter and took it off for further examination.  This was yet another reminder of the potential 'hassles' involved with less than brand new equipment and i felt glad an expert had been on hand to sort the job and get me going again. No1 FOR MOTORCYCLE TRACKING! Jan 12 2005

Another first for Peak Motorcycle Security - they are the first specialist motorcycle company to achieve the prestigious accreditation of V.S.I.B. (Vehicle Systems Installation Board) Category 5!

The V.S.I.B. is the insurance standard for fitting of a broad range of security, audio and telematics to vehicles. The standard covers every aspect of installation from the company structure through to the tools and technical fitting criterion.

Leicester based Peak, now in their 11 th year in business as leading installers of motorcycle security, were the first motorcycle company to achieve the complete motorcycle V.S.I.B. installation standard over 5 years ago. Peak actually helped to develop it!

The specialist Category 5 section was established for tracking and recovery devices. Still in it's early stages, Cat. 5 covers the approval of the hardware as tested by THATCHAM test centre as well as security vetting of would be V.S.I.B. installers. Only an accredited installer is permitted to install the sensitive Cat. 5 tracking equipment.

A combination of noise pollution generated by certain alarms, together with a growth in the trend of 'key theft' makes tracking recovery a logical choice to combat theft   - provided the installing company can be fully trusted!

Peak's product training was completed with Matrix Telematics of Manchester. Matrix is one of 6 manufacturers of the Cat. 5 tracking equipment.

RiDE Magazine January 2004 - 11 page bike security feature

“80% of bike thefts take place from the rider's own home”

For the January issue of RIDE magazine, the crew from Peak Motorcycle Security were honoured to be part of the consultancy team for a bike security makeover.

As quoted in the article, Julian Beardsell is
“Bike security expert. What he doesn't know about bike security isn't worth knowing. Passionate and enthusiastic”

The makeover consisted of 3 semi-staged thefts by security experts, analysis of the situation and consequent security device installations recommended and fitted by Peak Motorcycle Security.

The 3 bikes were "stolen" in 1:23, 1:30 and 7:45 minutes repsectively highlighting the inadequacies of a lot of security measures. To bolster the security of the first victim Peak installed a Rotalok Mark 2 Inturn ground anchor with an Almax Immobiliser chain, the second victim got kitted out with an MST Bike Guard, the Almax chain again and the third a Linchblock Garage door stopper with a meta C11 gararge alarm.
