Datatool S4-C1 
Available Feb ’05 (Thatcham MC1 Alarm / 2 Circuit Immobiliser).

What we reckon:
The latest addition to the Datatool range of Alarms. The S4 has not been around long enough for us to draw any conclusions, but it looks great from the spec. Datatool have at last built a proper key conversion (both keys) and the exceptional and unique feature of the S4 is the metal protected siren cover, which would resist an aggressive attack. This alarm also houses a Datatag style identification chip which adds to the security profile.

Apart from all the other quality features normally associated with a Thatcham approved alarm (3 year guarantee, Programmable alarm features, PIN Code over-ride etc.), the S4 has the option of adding a radio linked P.I.R. to trigger the alarm before the bike has been moved!  The earlier generation of Datatool alarms were only either part resin bonded (S3) or not bonded at all (VETO etc).  The S4 is fully resin bonded and this eliminates unreliability due to water ingress or vibration.

In summary, the S4-C1 if the flagship of the Datatool range, and although the S3 is still a current model, we will focus our sales on the S4 due to its superior features and build quality. Request full feature list on our enquiry page if required.

Datatool S4-C221
Thatcham MC2 » 1 upgrade

What we reckon:

The same build quality and features as the CAT1 system, but without the immobilisation facility.
The alarm is intended to upgrade the immobilisation currently approved and fitted as standard (Thatcham Category 2 immobiliser must be in place for approval level to be valid). Datatool System 3

What we reckon:
The S3 was introduced in approx. Nov. 02 and has not been changed since. The Introduction of the S4 in Feb 2005 will definitely date the S3, although the S3 remains a current model.  The S3 features are plentiful and include PIN override, variable siren tones, sleep mode, diagnostic mode to mention a few. The alarm has a part resin bonded build and parts of this alarm are used to re-condition earlier VETO models.

Our view is, go the extra mile and buy the S4 which is superior in every respect!

Datatool S4-C4
Available Feb 05, Thatcham approved MC4 Immobiliser (with alarm)

What we reckon:
This system is designed to provide security for the sub – 125cc category. The Thatcham category 4 relates to the immobilisation only, but there is a featured alarm combined, in this category of bike, this is certainly the best product available. It shares the same high build quality of the S4-C1 big brother, there is a combined nudge / movement sensor, single circuit immobilisation and 2 remote keys supplied to mention a few features.
